Climate, (Cl) in soil science, includes variables like abundance of water, changes in temperature, intensity of sunlight, and microclimate conditions. For example, a soil in a warm wet climate will “rust” or oxidize, whereas a soil in a desert is only slightly modified from parent material due to rainfall.
Climate, in personal history, includes:
- Prevailing attitudes, standards and conditions which surround a person.
- The “political climate”, the “social climate” or the “religious climate” that affects a person
- Socioeconomic conditions like poverty or wealth.
Here is a gallery of images that students have created to explore their personal climate factors. These images most often include major world events that have impacted their lives.
